Let's Talk About Community Safety

admin 120 comments

How do you feel about the overall safety of our community  and what are your biggest concerns or worries?

What steps do you think our community should take to improve safety and security for everyone?

Are there specific spaces, areas, or neighbourhoods within your locality that you feel are particularly unsafe, and why?

How do you believe we can better communicate and collaborate as a community to address safety concerns?

Are there any specific safety initiatives or programs that you've seen implemented elsewhere that you think would be beneficial for our community?

Do you know who to report community safety concerns to?  Do you have confidence in reporting your concerns?

Tell us what matters to you and share your ideas in the feedback box below

    - There is a serious issue for dog fouling at the following: Battery Park, Gourock park, Shore Street, Walled Garden, and Tower Drive.
    - Bring the tennis courts back, as there is not a lot for younger ones to do. Bring back the paddling ponds on the front of Gourock.

I think the Bridge of Weir road 20mph sign needs to be enforced as this is a major concern for most residents.
There needs to be more parking spaces in the village.

          - Concerns were raised about who is planning changes in the local authority, in particular to streets with the cycle lanes being highlighted as a particular safety concern.
          - Concerns were raised around the dog fouling across Inverclyde. One attendee commented that it is particularly bad on Grant Street and on one occasion they found a dog poo bag in their front garden.

More local community engagement, it would maybe provide the opportunity to meet neighbours and get to know them to discuss concerns.
