  • 1. Make it the default speed limit, with a few roads being 30mph, except where these pass through residential areas, nurseries and schools. 2. Bus lanes on all roads with 30mph speed limits. 3. Identify 'rat runs' and either close them off.

    • These are all great suggestions and the sort of thing our sustainable and liveable neighbourhoods teams are progressing at the moment. I'll ask my Officers to review vehicle speeds on the Broomielaw using our new speed analysis tool. If you have any concerns about speeding, please contact Police Scotland or email RoadSafety@glasgow.gov.uk and we can look into this for you.

      • Thank you, we now utilise a speed analysis tool to help identify any roads in the city where speeding may be an issue. Thankfully, data shows that the majority of roads within the city have average speeds below the posted speed limit. We also review collision data and speed related collisions on a regular basis and where issues are identified, our engineers work in partnership with Police Scotland and Safety Cameras Scotland re a suitable solution.

        • Many thanks for your contribution. Are there any areas of the city that you believe require road redesign to help facilitate the 20mph initiative?
